Key Features
| Why Choose US?
|

Custom food flags are small printed flags on a wooden pick, and they sit in the one place your customers are already looking. A burger, a cupcake, a sandwich or a canapé carries your logo straight to the table, and often straight onto social media.
We print custom printed food flags in your own artwork, in your brand colours, in the size that suits the dish. Choose a standard rectangle or a die-cut shape. Print one side or both. Then we deliver Australia-wide.
What Are Custom Food Flags?
Custom food flags are small printed paper flags attached to a wooden or bamboo pick. Businesses use them to brand, decorate or identify food items such as burgers, cupcakes, sandwiches and catered appetisers.
Each flag has two parts. The printed paper carries your logo, product name or message. The pick holds the flag upright in the food. Because the print area is small, the design works best when it stays simple and high-contrast.
You will also see the same product sold as custom toothpick flags, custom food picks or food markers. The names differ, but the product is the same: a printed flag on a pick.
Where Can You Use Custom Food Flags?
Almost any dish that holds a pick can hold a flag. These are the applications we print most often:
- Burger flags – the classic use, and the one that also holds a tall stack together. Pair them with your custom burger packaging for a consistent look from grill to takeaway bag.
- Cupcake flags – small flags for cupcakes, muffins and single-serve desserts.
- Sandwich flags – label fillings on halved sandwiches, wraps and baguettes.
- Cake flags – celebration cakes, slices and dessert bars.
- Canapé and appetiser flags – useful when guests need to tell six similar bites apart.
- Catering and platter flags – grazing tables, cheese boards and buffet stations.
- Cocktail and garnish flags – bar snacks, skewers and garnishes.
- Food sampling flags – in-store tastings, expos and product launches.
Bakeries often order flags alongside their branded bakery packaging, so the cupcake and the box carry the same design.
Custom Food Flag Sizes and Options
Pick length decides which dish the flag suits. Three sizes cover most of the market:
| Pick length | Flag size | Best suited to |
| 65 mm | Small flag, short pick | Cupcakes, muffins, small desserts, canapés, cheese portions |
| 100 mm | Medium flag, standard pick | Burgers, sandwiches, wraps, sliders, club stacks |
| 150 mm | Large flag, long pick | Whole cakes, tall stacks, platters, display and promotional pieces |
Note for the build: confirm your exact flag dimensions (e.g. 35 × 25 mm on the 65 mm pick) and paper GSM before this table goes live.
Materials
- Coated paper – sharp colour reproduction and a smooth finish.
- Kraft or uncoated paper – a natural look for artisan and organic branding.
- Wooden or bamboo picks – the standard pick material.
If you already order custom greaseproof paper or custom deli paper from us, we can match the flag stock and ink to that existing artwork.
Printing options
- Full-colour CMYK printing across the whole flag.
- Single-sided or double-sided printing. Double-sided means the flag reads correctly from either side of the table.
- Die-cut and custom shapes – pennants, swallowtails, circles, or a cut-out of your logo.
- Multiple designs in one order, so each menu item gets its own flag.
Custom Printing for Food Flags
The print area on a food flag is roughly the size of a postage stamp. That changes how artwork should be prepared.
Solid brand colours print cleanly. Fine gradients, hairline rules and 6 pt text do not. A logo that works on a shopfront sign may need a simplified version for a flag, and we will tell you if that is the case before production.
Design checklist before you send artwork
- Supply vector files where possible – AI, EPS or PDF. High-resolution PNG at 300 dpi also works.
- Keep text to a few words. A brand name, a flavour, or a short message.
- Use strong contrast between text and background.
- Give your logo breathing room inside the safe area.
- Allow bleed so colour runs to the trimmed edge.
- Decide whether the reverse side repeats the front or carries different information.
- Supply brand colours as CMYK or Pantone references.
Why Use Branded Food Flags?
Branded food flags do more than decorate a plate. Each one has a practical job:
- Brand recognition – your logo appears in every photograph a customer takes.
- Product identification – guests can tell the beef burger from the vegan one at a glance.
- Dietary and allergen labelling – mark gluten-free, dairy-free, halal or vegetarian items on a shared platter.
- Event branding – wedding dates, sponsor logos, conference names and launch messaging.
- Presentation – a finished, deliberate look on an otherwise plain plate.
- Promotion – a QR code, a hashtag or a short offer on the reverse side.
For food trucks and takeaway venues, flags work hardest when the rest of the packaging is branded too. Our printed food packaging range covers boxes, wraps and papers in the same artwork.
Food Safety and Material Considerations
Food flags touch food, so the material matters. Food Standards Australia New Zealand advises that packaging and food-contact materials must be fit for their intended use and must not contaminate the food they touch.
That principle guides how we specify flags. We use paper stocks, inks and adhesives selected for food-contact applications, and picks made from untreated wood or bamboo.
Two practical points for buyers:
- Food flags are a presentation product, not a cooking product. Do not place them in an oven, fryer, microwave or grill.
- Food flags are single-use. Remove them before the food is eaten, and dispose of the flag and pick after service.
If your venue needs documentation for its food-safety program, ask us for the material specification when you request your quote.
How to Order Custom Food Flags
The process runs in six steps:
- Choose your size – 65 mm, 100 mm or 150 mm, based on the dish.
- Choose your quantity – tell us how many flags and how many separate designs.
- Submit your artwork – upload print-ready files, or send us your logo and we will lay it out.
- Approve your proof – we send a digital proof showing both sides. Nothing prints until you approve it.
- Production – your flags are printed, cut and assembled onto the picks.
- Delivery – dispatched to your venue anywhere in Australia.
Ordering checklist
Have these ready and your quote turns around faster:
- The dish the flags will sit in.
- Total quantity, and the split between designs.
- Single-sided or double-sided.
- Standard rectangle or custom shape.
- Your logo file and brand colour references.
- The date you need them delivered.
- Your delivery postcode.

What are custom food flags?
Custom food flags are small printed paper flags mounted on a wooden or bamboo pick. Food businesses use them to display a logo, product name or message on items such as burgers, cupcakes, sandwiches and catered appetisers.
Can I print my logo on food flags?
Yes. Full-colour printing reproduces logos, brand colours, text and QR codes. Send a vector file or a 300 dpi image, and we will check it reproduces cleanly at flag size before printing.
Can food flags be printed on both sides?
Yes. Double-sided printing is available on all sizes. Many venues print the logo on one side and the product name, flavour or dietary information on the other.
What sizes are available?
We supply 65 mm, 100 mm and 150 mm picks. Use 65 mm for cupcakes and canapés, 100 mm for burgers and sandwiches, and 150 mm for cakes, platters and display pieces.
Can I order custom-shaped food flags?
Yes. Die-cut shapes such as pennants, swallowtails, circles, and logo cut-outs are available. Custom shapes need a cutter guide, so allow extra time at the artwork stage.
Can I order different designs in the same order?
Yes. Caterers and restaurants often run several designs at once, with one flag per menu item. Tell us the split when you request your quote.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimums depend on the size and the number of designs. Send us your quantity and we will confirm the minimum and the unit price for that run.
How long does production take?
Production starts once you approve your proof. Turnaround depends on quantity, shape and finish, and time is 7–10 working days.
