From simple kraft paper to elegant tissue, wrapping flowers in an elegant way makes them convey the message of love and care. When you get a custom paper specially designed for flowers, you also get the opportunity to enhance the popularity of your brand.

By getting a flower bouquet paper roll, you can captivate the buyers and make them invest in your floral pieces of artwork. We have multiple varieties of paper, along with endless customization options, so that you can remain in your expression and impression on the customers.

    Types Of Bouquet Papers

When it comes to the customization option, there are no bounds to the creativity of your brand. We understand that different floral presentations require different types of papers and designs. Considering this, we give you different types of paper for a flower bouquet. Some of the common options that we have are mentioned in the table:

    Manufacturing

To give you the best quality flower bouquet paper in store, we use the best manufacturing facility. This ensures the perfect production at minimal cost and high efficiency. Our company follows chronological steps of paper manufacturing in which each step is intertwined with the next, which results in paper with impeccable quality and impressive appearance.

    Debarking And Chipping

Like all the custom papers, flower wrapping paper is obtained from wood pulp. We source the material from the best quality woods and debark the logs to remove contaminants such as bark, calcium, and silica. These logs are then chipped by drums and discs that give uniform flakes. Our skilled staff makes sure that the sizes of the chips are consistent so that an even chemical penetration can occur, and you get high-quality flower bouquet paper wrap.

    Chip Size Control

We have an advanced screening system that removes oversized chips because they are undercooked. The target for fine chips is 2 to 8 mm, which has optimal fiber strength. 25 × 25 × 4 is the ideal dimension of chips that are further processed.

    Cooking (White Liquor Digestion)

    White Liquor Chemistry

In this process of making flower wrapping paper rolls, delignification happens to release cellulose fibers. Here, we cook the raw material in white liquor that contains sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide. These two attack the ether bonds in lignin and solubilize it, which ultimately leads to fiber swelling and penetration.

    Digester Conditions

150–170 °C under ~4–6 bar pressure is applied at the time of raw material coking. This process is done for 10 to 20 minutes continuously. This cooking removes more than 90 percent of lignin and 20 to 30 percent of hemicellulose.

    Delignification Reactions

The α‑ and β‑aryl ether bonds in lignin cleave and fragments dissolve in the liquor at the time of cooking, and carbohydrate degradation also occurs. Temperature and time, along with the alkalinity of the process, are controlled to maximize the removal of lignin and to release cellulose integrity.

    Brown Stock Washing Principles

Once cooked, the brown stock moves toward washers of any kind (vacuum, pressure, or diffuser) where fresh water flows in opposite directions to remove liquor and dissolved lignin. Washers in the industry operate at E₁₀ values (water needed for 90 % carryover reduction) between 12 and 16 in multistage units to minimize organic contaminant transfer to bleaching and recovery areas.

    Screening

The first stage of screening employs coarse meshes to take out both unprocessed wood pieces and large solids, which helps safeguard equipment at later processes while maintaining a uniform pulp material quality. The combination of washing operations and screening techniques effectively lowers lignin remaining (evaluated through Kappa number) to levels less than 20 for bleachable grades.

Bleaching removes residual lignin to achieve the desired brightness. Modern mills avoid elemental chlorine (C) due to environmental concerns, using ECF (chlorine dioxide, D) or TCF (oxygen, O; ozone, Z; peroxide, P) sequences.

It is an optional process and is done based on the customer’s demands. If someone is looking for Kraft paper-like wrap, then we do not do the bleaching process. However, for printed or Korean-style flower wrapping paper, we use ECF (chlorine dioxide, D) or TCF (oxygen, O; ozone, Z; peroxide, P) that remove brown color without damaging the environment.

    Mechanical Forming

In the mechanical step of wholesale flower wrapping paper making, the pulp is fed to the cylinders that drain off excessive water. The wet sheets are then passed through press nips that reduce the moisture up to 50 percent. After this, the semi-dried paper sheets are fed to Yankee or drying cylinders that reduce the moisture to approximately 5 percent. During the whole process, the temperature is maintained at 100 to 120 degrees Celsius so that the fiber gets enough time to bond and minimal thermal damage occurs.

    Micro creping

The paper stretches slightly through in-dwell creping treatment to result in increased flexibility and softness. The stretching during the in-dwell creping operation helps protect the raw sheets of flower bouquet wrapping paper from damage that occurs during the folding process. Through creping, the paper becomes more substantial while acquiring minute wrinkles to make it breathable-friendly and easier to handle. The process enhances paper material features along with drape behavior for improved user performance.

    Calendaring

Calendaring is an optional process that gives a smooth and slight compression of paper. We use hard nip and soft nip cylinders based on the strength required to manufacture a specific type of flower bouquet wrap. This process also reduces the porosity of the paper, making it more resistant to moisture.

Aside from the above-mentioned manufacturing steps, there are certain chemicals and sizing agents used in the paper to give additional properties and more strength than a regular tissue paper for wrapping has, which is sometimes used to wrap flowers too. These chemicals or additives are explained in the table below:

    Printing And Inks

For printed flower bouquet paper, we use different printing options. Your budget as well as your design requirements are the two major factors that determine the printing process that we use. Aside from this, we use different inks such as metallic and neon to decorate the paper. We also have the option of simple matte inks for the Korean flower bouquet wrap. Some of the common paper colors that customers get from us are as follows:

    • Black flower bouquet paper
    • Pink flower bouquet paper
    • Brown flower bouquet paper
    • Pastel color paper
    • Matte dark colors

The printing options that we have are as follows:

    Screen Printing

This is the process by which simple and bold designs in the paper are created. The ink is passed to the paper via a mesh that gives fine details. To cure the ink, mostly heat or UV lamps are used.

    Offset Printing

Offset printing is the best option for high volumes and when you need intricate details. The paper is required to be passed through pre-treatments such as corona and plasma treatment; some can also go for surface sizing for ink adhesion.

    Digital Printing

This is done when a short run of paper for a bouquet is required. In this process, you can get simple to intricate designs at a fast pace. However, it may yield mottling or a coarse surface. That is why we sometimes have to apply primers that can retain the paper’s smoothness.

In the entire process, the following types of ink can be used:

    • Water-based Ink
    • UV Ink
    • Solvent Ink
    • Soy-based Ink
    • Latex Ink
